OUR COMMUNITY & ENVIROMENT

Our approach to environmental responsibility is simple and straightforward. We aim to operate sustainable and workable practices throughout our day-to-day business with express consideration for the environment and to our customers, suppliers, employees and the communities within which we operate. The hire and support vehicle fleet is renewed on a regular basis, this program is designed to keep it as fuel efficient as possible, it enables us to offer maximum fuel efficiency and minimise our carbon emissions. Our transport fleet is monitored by a modern tracking system continually to ensure the most efficient routes are taken to minimise fuel consumption. Additionally we carry out the majority of repair/warranty work in our purpose built workshops or on site to reduce the emissions from transporting machinery unnecessarily to remote dealerships for repair. We seek to minimise adverse impacts through good management, aiming for continuous improvement in our Sustainability and delivering on our duty of care towards future generations.

Industry Bodies & Trade Associations

Dewsbury and Proud Ltd are members of the Construction Plant-Hire Association (C.P.A.), Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and Road Haulage Association (RHA). Being a member of these industry bodies enables us to keep abreast of current and future legislation, best practice initiatives on safety, training and security across our industry and beyond. The memberships also allows us to use the Construction Plant-Hire Association’s model conditions of hire which are the standard hire conditions used throughout the U.K.. These Conditions make it clear what each parties roles and responsibilities are within the hire contact. We have several members of staff who regularly attend and have input on these committees.

We are audited and accredited by several well-known schemes including Achilles UVDB, SafeContractor, SMAS, and Avetta. This means we meet and exceed the requirements of many of the UK’s largest supply chain organisations, this also enables us to prove our quality, environmental and health & safety standards efficiently to prospective customers
